Mendlov University in Brno is the oldest agricultural and agricultural university in the Czech Republic. It was established in 1919 as the Agricultural University in Brno, and under this name lasted until 1994. Its creation was completed long-term educational investment in agriculture Moravia, one of the richest in the eastern edges of Europe. During its existence the Institute has undergone many organizational changes and prepared for the national economy tens of thousands of different specialists.

Faculty of Horticulture in Lednice is situated , the rest are in Brno. The number of students at the University is currently 10,654 students, of which 585 people - foreign students .

The University offers a broad range of specialties most attractive of which are specialty : food technology , regional development , creation and production of furniture, economics , tourism , public administration, finance , landscape architecture, vineyards and wineries , technical expertise and insurance, agroecology , biotechnology, road transport , horse breeding and agri- waste technology , and many others.

Mendel University systematically responds to changes in the national and international situation flexibly adapt to these changes in the content, format and method of teaching . Wishing to study at university can choose from 35 specialties accredited undergraduate and 35 graduate majors .
